This policy is to ensure reviewers understand when and why Tenant’s Guide will remove a submitted review.
This platform maintain high standards regarding the detection and removal of fake reviews to maintain the integrity of the review platform and to make it useful to the public.
Tenant’s Guide identify a fake review from certain red flags, such as:
- It is part of a sudden surge in reviews about the landlord or agency;
- It is overly positive or written in marketing language;
- It is written from the business’s IP address or email;
- Multiple reviewer accounts have similar usernames, email addresses or IP addresses; or
- Multiple reviews have similar content and style.
If we found that the review is fake based on the red flags indicated here, we will remove the review. If we found evidences that a reviewed landlord or agency is responsible for the posting of fake reviews about itself or its competitors, we will closely monitor future reviews of that business or remove all of their reviews entirely depending
on the extent of review manipulation. We will blacklist their IP addresses to block them from posting to this platform.
Reviews can be reported
Reviews can and should be reported in this platform if they are inappropriate and contain some of the following content:
- Off-topic: The review does not relate to any experiences with or at this business.
- Spam: The review is from a bot, a fake account, or includes advertisements and promotions.
- Conflict of Interest: The reviewer is linked to the company or a competing business.
- Profanity: The review contains swear words, has sexually explicit language or details graphic violence or other illegal activity
- Bullying or Harassment: The review personally attacks a specific individual.
- Discrimination or hate speech: The review has harmful language about an individual or group based on identity.
- Personal Information: The review contains personal information such as address or phone number.
If a review was flagged as inappropriate, we will thoroughly verify the review. If we found the review content inappropriate and contain some of the content stated above, we will remove the review.
